Japan U.S. Military Program (JUMP) - Branding, design & identity

The Japan U.S. Military Program (JUMP)

Company Overview

The Japan U.S. Military Program (JUMP) connects past and present service members, families, and government civilians who have served in Japan. Through social networks and events, JUMP builds relationships and provides opportunities for service members to engage with each other.

The Challenge

The original JUMP website began in 2015, with a very short deadline in place, which required branding identity, design, and a fully functional website in time for Sasakawa USA second security forum featuring Prime Minster of Japan, Shinzo Abe, presenting at the Four Seasons Hotel. A conference that brings together key security experts and officials from government, business, think tanks, and academia.

During 2019, targeting a goal date of Summer 2020, JUMPs website was redesigned. Although strategy had changed over the years, the focus was clear; to establish the JUMP program as a powerful foundation for sustaining the alliance between the U.S. and Japan. The site would provide event listings, resources, social media, in total, creating the JUMP experience for visitors.

The Solution

Branding, Design, and Identity

Similar to the organization, JUMP's new brand had to be bold and unique, featuring a strategy that could deliver easily the core message of the US-Japan alliance. Also taking into consideration, the logo design was to take on many responsibilities within many communication and marketing materials. An identity that could adapt well, and create impact during events, forums, etc. A logo that would become instantly recognizable.

Overall thoughts based on feedback, the attributes associated with it were positive; clean, unique and modern, combining a palette that clearly defined the organization. Once incorporated with design pieces, the overall response was extremely positive.

Website Redesign 2020/21

We wanted more of a visual experience, communicating greatly the mission of JUMP. Over the years the JUMP program has built a solid network, with impressive events across the country and internationally, with this material, and engaging design, we would lay a foundation to create an immediate impression.

The Results

An engaging website designed to build relationships
